At the same time, it's one of the many ways GM is working to reduce our dependence on gasoline.In Mode 1, at low speeds and with light loads, the vehicle can operate three ways - electric power, engine power or a combo of the two.Mode 2, used primarily at highway speeds, provides electric assist in addition to four-cylinder or full eight-cylinder engine power.Tahoe Hybrid also incorporates Active Fuel Management technology, which smoothly shifts the engine from eight cylinders to four and back. |
